A one-day tour

Skopje - Stobi - Demir Kapija Canyon

08:00 AM: Departure from Skopje along the valley of the river Vardar was one of the busiest routes that connected the ancient towns of Skupi, Vila Zora, Stobi, Stenae, Gortinija and Pela.

09:15 AM: Arrival in Stobi - tour of one of the largest and best preserved archeological sites in Macedonia. Stobi is an open book that contains the civilization path of the people of this area starting as early as the 3 century B.C. through and into the following nine centuries.

The names of the two ancient Macedonian kings, Philip II and Philip V, are connected with this town. Roman historians also wrote about Stobi. This is a rare opportunity to travel through time while touring the town, the lapidarian structure and the small museum.

12:00: Arrival in Demir Kapija - a town known through history as the "Iron Gate" to the conquerors.

Visit to the wine cellar Popova Kula followed by wine tasting.

15:00 Lunch in the tavern of Mulino ("the watermill") that is in an authentic watermill.

-Return to Skopje in the evening.
