Matka - A Museum In The Open Air

A one-day tour

Lake Matka This tour will include a visit of the monastery of St. Andrea, a ride with a boat and a visit to the Monastery of St. John (Sveti Jovan Zlatoust), situated in the village of Kozarevo on the other side of lake Matka.











DETAILED SCHEDULE FOR THE TOUR

9:00 - 9:45 Lake Matka
Skopje - v. Matka

09:45 - 10:15
Parking v. Matka - Monastery of St. Andrea.
There is about 15 min time for a visit and a short walk around the church - until 10:30.

10:30 - 11:15
Monastery of St. Andrea - to the other side of the canyon, by boat.
From the small port you will have to walk around 30 minutes to reach the Monastery St. John Zlatoust - 11:45. Then, you will have around 15 minutes to walk around.

12:00 - 12:30
Returning to the small port.

12:30 - 13:45
Reaching the Monastery of St. Andrea. Here you will have enough time to visit the church, as well as to enjoy the traditionally prepared lunch.

15:00
Lake Matka Leisurely stroll to the region called Severno sedlo (the Northern Saddle) - another place from where you can admire and enjoy the beautiful nature of the Matka canyon.

16:30
You will return to the parking by foot, and after that to Skopje.

17:00
Lake Matka Arrival in Skopje.
