Frequently Asked Questions - II
Are any special skills required for joining your trips?
Most of our tours do not require any special skills. We suggest that you be in good overall
physical condition and health. Other than that, we ask only that you approach the tour in the
spirit of adventure, discovery and environmental sensitivity.
What kind of medical support can we expect on your trips?
Most of our tours involve outdoor activities. Participation in even the least active itinerary
requires average health and physical fitness.
It is essential that persons with any medical problems or dietary restrictions make them known to us well
before departure. We can then counsel you on whether the tour you have selected is the right one for you.
However, we should not be considered
a medical advisor and do not claim any expertise or assume any responsibility for this information.
We strongly urge you to consult your private physician for advice.
Due to the remote nature of some destinations, medical facilities may not be readily available
and evacuation can be prolonged, difficult, and expensive. Go Macedonia and its guides assume no
liability regarding provision of medical care.
Do you have any specific trips for families?
Our trips are suitable for parents and children. We typically do not identify specific
"family departures" as we think that would be too restrictive. However, if you, as a family,
are the first guests to sign up on a particular trip, we may designate that as a "family departure",
if possible, at that time. Therefore, we suggest registering early to obtain a family trip. Call
our office for advice on which of our expeditions it might be suitable for travel with your children.
What are our responsibilities as trip participants?
In fairness to you, your guides and other participants, please read the details of the trip
carefully and be sure that it matches your expectations. We handle trip logistics, make sure
you are comfortable and safe and have knowledgeable and well-trained guides. However, we do have some expectations:
- We ask that you approach your trip with an open mind for adventure and discovery. As much as
we try to outline itineraries, things may change; schedules may alter due to weather,
group desires, and circumstances beyond our control.
- We ask that you arrive at your destination in good health and request that you check with
your own physician for any recommended health precautions prior to departure.
Please keep in mind that on any trip, equally important as your physical condition, will be
your flexibility of attitude. A spirit for adventure, positive attitude, a sense of humour and
a willingness to deal with whatever surprises Mother nature has in store for us are a must!
Remember to leave your watches, deadlines, and schedules behind so you can enjoy a state of
mind in tune with the local concept of time.
