Frequently Asked Questions

Who travels with Go Macedonia?

Most of the people who travel with us are foreign business people, or people who work and live in our country. Most of them like to spend their weekends visiting hidden and non-commercialised parts of the country. They are travellers with a diversity of occupations and interests, who share a love of active, cultural travel, and who are interested in learning more about the Macedonian cultural heritage and the local customs and traditions.

What is required to make a tour reservation?

If you're ready for a travel experience far different from the traditional tour-group, just complete a reservation form. We do, however, feel that it would be very beneficial if you talk to us directly so that we can be sure that you have chosen the right experience for yourself, (different strokes for different folks!), so please call us at: ++ 389 2 30 71 265 to speak with one of our qualified staff, or drop in our Skopje offices.

Since our groups are of limited size, we recommend that you reserve a space as soon as you know when you wish to travel. Please note that we also organise single-traveller trips (at a premium price).

After we receive your deposit and completed registration/liability forms, a detailed itinerary will be sent to you.

What does the price include?

The price includes all the services mentioned in the program.

What does the price NOT include?

All additional expenses incurred: telephone calls, room service, snacks and drinks outside of organized meals, tips, etc, are your own responsibility! But don't worry; your money will travel a lot further than you think!

How large will my group be?

Go Macedonia is not, and doesn't aspire to be a typical high volume travel agent. We pride ourselves on providing a very rewarding and highly personal travel experience. Our small groups of maximum 16 travellers insure an intimate and personally rewarding journey.

Do I have to be fit in to enjoy my trip?

Our trips are designed for all levels of walkers and multi-activity/outdoors enthusiasts. However, it is always better to begin a journey as fit as possible. It will contribute to your general well being and maximize your enjoyment of the trip. If in doubt, contact our Go Macedonia team for more advice.

What kind of guides do you have?

We believe our guides are the heart and soul of any expedition. They are all handpicked and certified by the Tour Guides Association, and all possess a profound knowledge of their area of travel, its wildlife, natural history and culture, and will consistently keep you informed and aware of your surroundings. Our guides are selected not only for their love of the outdoors, but also for their caring nature, competence and enthusiasm, as well as the unique touch only a local can give you. And just in case you wanted to ask, YES, all are fluent in English! (other languages can also be arranged)

What kinds of restaurants do you use and what kind of meals can we expect?

All of the restaurants chosen by Go Macedonia are of the highest quality and have been personally vetted by our keen staff. In short: if the locals eat there, it's the place to eat! Most meals are included in our itineraries. If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know well before departure. We can accommodate for your dietary needs with adequate notice.
