A Day at the WINE HARVEST FESTIVAL
Be a part of the celebration of wine at the traditional wine harvest in the
Tikvesh region and the wine festival in Kavadarci.
The cultivation of the vine, the creation of wine from the grape and the effects
of wine-drinking on the human organism have always inspired a sense of awe in
humanity, and this is why they have been associated with the divine.

Along the ancient wine road
In
the sunny and mountainous part of the country, in the centre of the Balkans,
there is a region where geographical position, fertile soil and climatic
conditions have been extremely favorable for grape cultivation and formation of
intense flavors in specific grape varieties. A centuries old producer of the
regions finest wines, Tikvesh is the wine heart of Macedonia.

We travel long the valley of the river Vardar, one of the
busiest ancient routes that connected the ancient towns of Skupi, Vila Zora, Stobi, Stenae, Gortinija
and Pela.
09:15 AM Breakfast at Stobi pavilion
Optional: Tour of one of the largest and best preserved archeological
sites in Macedonia - Stobi.

Start the day
with a visit of a vineyard where you will learn about the various vines grown in
the region and have the opportunity to breed ripe healthy grapes to make
beautiful wines from. The wonderful climate of warm weather and sunny days allow
excellent harvest conditions and ripe healthy grapes to make beautiful wines

join the central celebration of wine at Kavadarci’s city square to follow the
cultural program, carnival defile of traditional masks, jugglers and street
performers, followed by
by wine
tasting at the stands from the local wineries. You will be intruded to all
styles of Macedonian wine - dry and sweet, still and sparkling, red, white and
rosé and probably the best grape brandy (rakija) you have ever tried.

To supplement
this wonderful event, we take you to visit one of the oldest and biggest
wineries on the Balkan Peninsula. Here one can reveal all the secrets of
becoming a great winemaker, and feast him self in the exquisite cuisine
complement by the best of wines that give you a feeling of walking through a
great vineyard.
-Return to Skopje in the evening.
