After the period of the national awakening and literacy in the XIX c, followed a period when the big imperialistic powers of Europe would not allow the process of dissolution into smaller nation-states. Europe became a polygon for the Great War of the great powers and their country allies, and divided Macedonia became a foothold of the military actions on the Macedonian front.

08:00 Departure from Skopje
Introduction to the tour - Visit the French and British Military Cemeteries in Skopje
The French military cemeteries are located near the Fortress Kale, near the US Embassy while in the yard of the St. Archangel church in Avtokomanda, the British military cemeteries from I world war are located. 


11:00 Visit of the City Museum in Bitola

11:30 Tour of Bitola 
A great example of XIX c., Ottoman Empire architecture, through which one can compare the different building and decorating style in urban and rural environments.

13:00 NP Pelister- WWI trenches
On the way to the hotel you will walk through historical trace dating from First World War, with reconstructed trenches, bridges and cannon positions.  Pelister was very important war field during the First World War, with over 10 000 bombs a day, especially on the end of 1916 and beginning of 1917.
